Alan Cech, One Percent Realty, Maple Ridge Realtor really got himself in trouble with the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver it seems. His temper has caused him to get in trouble at several of the brokerages he has hung his shingle at during his short, unsuccessful real estate career. He has consented to this going on his permanent record which in layman's speak means: Plead guilty to unethical behavior.
The content on
Cech's blog has all but disappeared as his managing broker now has been forced to keep him on a short leash. A Google search of Alan Cech has revealed many inappropriate comments and shows a high level of contempt for his colleagues and others that disagree with him.

ReplyDeleteI have been in the service of selling Real Estate since 2007. I started my business with no money, no website, no contacts and no financial support from anyone other than my aging mama.
I have watched my bank accounts fall to nearly - $ 28 000.00 and then climb
to almost zero and back down again. Suffice to say it has been an emotional roller coaster ride for us both, my mother and I.
In the early days I worked a pizza delivery driver job to help offset the costs of being in Real Estate and to take some of the pressure off my mama who was financing my career from the money she was being given through her pension.
That all ended when I delivered a pizza to a Realtors house who knew my broker at the time and called him to let him know.
My managing broker at the time suggested in a very subtle way that I quit that job. As he put it " it's like seeing your surgeon driving a garbage truck ".
Then later on I began receiving cruel obscene text messages asking me if i wanted to deliver pizza's to some top agents in the area. So I quit delivering pizzas to avoid any further ridicule from my so called piers.
These passed few weeks have been hell for me. I am once again being persecuted for some " uncomplimentary remarks " I made about another agent and the brand he works under { I would not have made them if he had done his job properly } and when I told my mama of it, she began to cry.
She told me in these exact words " Alan , I cannot keep paying these bills you haven't made very much money since starting this and most of this is on me ...I hate real estate, just the word real estate makes me cringe ". { These words from a woman who cried tears of joy when i passed my licensing exam }. She then put her hands over her ears and would not listen anymore.
It was then I realized that i could bare anything this Business and this Institution and it's professional conduct committee could throw at me but, my mama could not.
So last night I sent an email to the head of our ethics committee and told him that i was leaving Real Estate for good, I no longer wish to be a part of what I consider to be a hypocritical Institution overflowing with bourgeois pompous ass housing salesman who care more about their image than they do about doing what is Just and right. An institution which I feel prides itself on having the ability to tell half truths and profit from it.
Although many people i have met feel that prestige accompanies being a Realtor, after my passed experiences in this business, I have more respect for the pizza delivery drivers.
As an added note, not all Realtors are Bad but the bad ones seem to far out number the good...unfortunately.

It seems he thinks he has gone out in a blaze of glory, burning bridges all along the way but the reality is that he has been snuffed out like a spent match. No one will remember him unless he is late delivering the Pizza.
